Many autistic people do not have a “sensory filter”, i.e. all stimuli in the environment hit the person at the same time - everything is perceived by the person at the same time. Depending on the environment and your own daily conditions, this can lead to an overload in the brain and cause a so-called “shutdown”. After that, the autistic person is no longer able to function for a considerable period of time. Therefore, many of my kind prefer quiet environments where we can concentrate on our projects without experiencing neurological overload from environmental stimuli. My work "No FIlter" is intended to represent these different environmental stimuli that "tangibly" impact an autistic person.
